University of Lincoln School of Film and Media final year students will showcase their creative work at the Lincoln Theatre Royal THIS weekend, and YOU are invited. It is the first time the historic city venue has staged a two-day multimedia exhibition by third year undergraduates and it is the first time the annual event is off-campus. The LSFM Degree Show is an opportunity for the public to see original, experimental and creative content in the Grade II listed theatre: from pop-up spaces like the Writers’ Room and take part in script reading to dressing rooms transformed into individual cinema booths. Screenings will be in the 450-seat Victorian auditorium, also above and below the stage will be design and digital exhibitions. Even the bar will turn into a gallery and backstage a sound and radio installation space. The LSFM Degree Show is FREE and open to the public on Saturday 11am-7pm & Sunday 11am-4pm. Wheelchair access is limited to the ground floor and some content may not be suitable for children. This news is covered by the University’s PR Officer Cerri Evans: Final year undergraduates have been given access to the Lincoln Theatre Royal for the entire weekend of 14th and 15th May, presenting a plethora of creative work including films, digital art, photography, soundscapes and even ‘virtual reality’ experiences. It is the first time in 20 years city art students have exhibited their work at the Grade II listed Lincoln Theatre Royal, built in 1893 on the city’s Clasketgate. The exhibition is open to the public and completely free to attend.

Head of School, Dr Sarah Barrow, said: “This is an opportunity to really involve the wider community with the creativity of our students and the exceptional work they produce. The Theatre Royal will be filled with original films ranging from comedy and horror to experimental films, along with sound and radio installations, 3D sound projects and design and digital media projects. Photography enthusiasts will also be able to view a range of photography exhibitions, while there is also a chance to see behind the scenes of planning for new productions with script readings and discussions of storylines and ideas.” Read in full the University of Lincoln’s press story.
