Season’s Greetings, LSFM | Lincoln School of Film & Media

Season’s greetings from the University of Lincoln School of Film & Media. We wish all current and former students as well as the teaching teams a fabulous festive time. A reminder to our undergrads and postgrad students to please complete the module surveys to help us develop our courses from your constructive feedback.  Thanks. The survey’s open until 23rd Dec https://lincolnsu.com/modules.

With students taking a break from their studies and tutors are marking, we reflect and look ahead with LSFM’s Senior Lecturer, and Joint Programme Leader for Media Production, Chris Hainstock: It has been a busy Semester overall and we hope you have found it challenging, in a positive way! As we look for inspiration for next year – why not take a look at our students and graduates’ work.

Jack Howard (Class of 2013) and Dean Dobbs (Class of 2014) are releasing their comedy web series online for freeJACK AND DEAN OF ALL TRADES. Watch a  hybrid digital film by Media Production student Jason Elliot. Also 3D kitchen design by Brogan Laws made using 3DS MAX. A fashion promo by Saron Kiros. A documentary about backpacking and working abroad filmed in Australia by Katherine Stoner and Gina Tesloff  – just a few examples of some student work.

LSFM Students when you are thinking about your assignment submissions, do remember that your work can have a life outside of the assessment process. We are actively looking at your work to enter it into festivals and competitions. One great example of this is our recent success at the RTS Midlands Awards, and we have submitted more work for the 2018/19 RTS student awards.

JESSICA (2017) won Best Drama and the Craft Award for Editing at the Undergraduate Awards at the Royal Television Society Midlands.

You can see the films on our Vimeo site which has more student work.  https://vimeo.com/lincolnmedia

Next year will also see the fourth annual Indie Lincs Film Festival – conceived and run by Mikey Murray, with lots of help from the students within LSFM – get involved and head to http://www.indie-lincs.com.

Uni of Lincoln (UK) will be closed on 24th December 2018 until 3rd January 2019. Semester B Teaching will start on Monday 21st January 2019.
