…to Lincoln Academy’s Lecture by Professor Neil Sinyard who is the LSM’s Visiting Professor for Film.  His talk “Hitchcock versus Herrmann” will focus on the dramatic story behind the break-up of the cinema’s finest director and composer partnership.

The event is at 6pm on 28th June at the EMMTEC Auditorium, Brayford Campus, and it is free.  But you do need to register, so click here.  There’ll be coffee from 5.30pm and drinks after – all free, so enjoy!

Olympic Torch in Lincoln, 27 and 28 June 2012

The Olympic Torch Relay’s visit to Lincoln is due on Wednesday 27th at around 5.10pm and it will depart on Thursday 28th June 2012.  For live camera feeds of the Olympic Torch, see here, courtesy of LSM’s Geoff Thompson and Mark Aldridge.

There will be many activities at Yarborough Leisure Centre.  Other events are ‘Follow The Light’ Carnival and live music around the Brayford Pool which will culminate with a firework display at approximately 10pm on the 27th.  For the route and rundown of the event click on the City of Lincoln Council.

“Boatload” wins BUFVC Award

“A Boatload of Wild Irishmen” won a ‘Special Jury Award’ in the annual BUFVC Learning on Screen Awards 2012:

The film was written by Brian Winston and edited by Chris Hainstock. It explores the moral complexities of controversial American documentary-maker Robert Flaherty, the man credited with being the father of the modern documentary after he produced and directed Nanook of the North in 1922.
