LSFM Mentoring: industry & student | Deadline 09.10.2015

LSFM Mentoring is back. This fabulous opportunity between industry professionals and our students will be running this new academic year 2015-16. This initiative is thanks to media and its related workers volunteering to be mentors – some of them are our alumni. Mentoring_Oct2014There are ONLY 20 student-mentee places. Deadline to return your registration form is Friday 9th October 2015 by email to Louise Lawlor. If selected, you must be available for the one-hour induction on Wednesday 4th November 4pm to 5pm at the Enterprise Building, as well as 11th November at 11.30am for a chance to chat with your media mentor on a one-to-one basis.

FindYourFeet_CareersFair_Logo_cropped_20Nov2013Invitation to a FREE Careers Fair for all students at the University of Lincoln: THIS Wednesday, 26th Nov, from 10:30am to 3:00pm Careers and Employability’s annual Find Your Feet careers fair will play host to over 60 employers in The Engine Shed.

Attending a graduate fair is one of the best ways to start planning your career, whether you are a 1st, 2nd, final year or postgraduate student – our fair is there for all your career needs!  Find information on graduate careers in areas such as recruitment processes to hints and tips on how to make a successful application or simply use this as an opportunity to network with employers and companies face to face.

UoL_LIBRARYLSM’s Senior Academic Subject Librarian Faye Cleminson wanted to flag this job opportunity to our graduating students or recent alumni interested in a 12-month fixed paid internship. The University of Lincoln’s new Library Events and Media Intern “will work closely with staff from the Academic Subject Librarian and Customer Services teams to develop and deliver a variety of events and media content, designed to increase students’ awareness and use of the Library and its services.”  The closing date is 15 June 2014. UoL_Careers&EmployabilityToday is ‘Career Wednesday’ and you can hear about Design for John Lewis at 2pm and find out how to sell yourself effectively by going to the 1-hour CV workshop at 3.30pm.

 

Career Wednesday is a chance for you to enhance your employability and gather information on the range of opportunities open to graduates.The initiative’s developed by the University’s Careers and Employability team, whereby each Wednesday employers are in the Enterprise@Lincoln building (next to the library) with the aim to help students and recent graduates to prepare for life after University.  Participation in a Career Wednesday session can be included as a chosen activity element of the Lincoln Award.
