Recent Media Production Graduate Tom Mallion is cycling around the UK as part of his BT Storyteller role. “I was as shocked as anyone when I turned to page 54 in today’s Daily Mirror (Nov 25th) to find that I had a full page spread on my TwoWheelDocs series…and I’m loving the James Bond image too, although I feel my cover may have been blown! We’re looking for new presenting talent for the live venues at next year’s Olympic Games. Working with a production team, the presenter’s role will be to entertain and inform the public before, after and during events. They’ll have to vox pop the crowd, interview sportsmen and women and introduce the action. The application closing date is Sunday 4th December.
After my job as an editor at Isis Media came to an end I got a job at Sky and moved to London.
I’ve been working as an Edit Co-ordinator in Compliance for the last 8 months but I’ve just got a promotion to ‘Editorial Compliance Executive’, which is a permanent job. Moving to London was a huge lifestyle change for me but now I’ve settled in I’m loving it and have managed to move up the career ladder pretty quickly. Looks like I’ll be staying down here for a quite while.

We have just received good news from Andy McKay. The Chair of the Midlands Royal Television Society judges has told him that Dirty Diamond Media has been nominated for Best Fiction Film in the student category.

“What Does Otto See?” Directed by Neil Baker (Electric Egg) has won Best UK Animated Short at the Cornwall International Film Festival.
Otto, a decrepit busking hobo, bashes out a jaunty tune on his toy piano to amuse passers by and hopefully earn him the odd coin. But on a pavement full of street maestros why would anyone spare a penny for old Otto?
