You are invited to ‘Engage, Imagine, Explore’ at the Lincoln School of Film & Media End of Year Show. See some of our marvellous media mentors. Thanks to professionals who kindly volunteer their time from their busy work schedules to mentor a student from the University of Lincoln School of Film & Media. Neurodivergen Film Fest Winners, DYSPLA | Screening 21.03.2018

DYSPLA_DIMIF_flyer1 copyMedia Production 2008 Grad Kaz Bielecki is the Artistic Director of the first Neurodivergent film festival produced in the UK by the award winning Arts organisation DYSPLA. It works “internationally in film, immersive theatre, installation & digital art to shed light on Dyslexic Narrative and the Dyslexic Aesthetic.” The University of Lincoln School of Film & Media will be screening the winning entries of this film fest on Wednesday 21 March, 1.30-3pm in the Stephen Langton Building (Brayford Pool campus). 

LSFM’s Senior Lecturer Marcella Forster said: The festival showcases work by dyslexic and neurodivergent filmmakers. Festival organisers will introduce students to the winning films and there’ll be an opportunity to ask them questions about the festival. All our students, staff and graduates are welcome to attend.

Head of LSFM Professor Steven Peacock said: There was a real buzz about the place. It was fantastic to see so many of our past and present students coming together to share news of such wide-ranging professional achievement.

Meet the Graduates | 8 Nov 2017 Industry Network Event at LSFM

Our current and former students are invited to the Uni of Lincoln School of Film & Media’s free networking event Meet the Graduates. On Wednesday 8th November join this gathering between our alumni and students – staff too! MtG 2017 is your on-campus opportunity to connect with like-minded creatives and make industry links. STUDENTS please take your theatre seat for 2pm in the Stephen Langton Building and ask anything you’d like to know from our alumni who work – on staff and freelance contracts – across the media industry from big corporates (BBC TV) to independents (Epix Media).

4-week Festival of Creativity, Lincoln | 12 May – 9 June 2017

FestofCreativity-2017-LOGOLincoln is hosting its first, FREE, Festival of Creativity (FOC), organised by the University of Lincoln’s College of Arts. The four-week fest (12th May-9th June) is to showcase and celebrate the emerging creative talent in the city – bringing together a wide range of disciplines through a series of exhibitions, talks and performances for everyone to ‘engage, explore, imagine’. The festival hosts a number of signature events, with advice from leading creative industry experts exploring the wider debate about the importance of the arts in contemporary society.

Final year students from across the College of Arts will celebrate the culmination of three years of study, sharing their work in respective Degree Shows in venues across the city, from art exhibitions and fashion shows to interactive displays and theatrical performances. Indie-Lincs 2017 | International Film Fest 16th-18th March, LPAC

Indie-Lincs is an International film festival that champions low and micro budget films and their filmmakers. The event’s organiser, lecturer at the University of Lincoln School of Film & Media (LSFM) and award winning filmmaker is Dr Mikey Murray: Our festival programme is brought to Lincoln through the hard work of student co-ordinators, who’re on the Film and TV course at LSFM: Becca Booty, Tom Durrans, Lucy Hansard, Ali Mendzil, Ben Reynolds & Tom Woodcock. Indie-Lincs aim is to help the best independent filmmakers from around the world showcase their original work and network successfully with their audience, other filmmakers and the indie filmmaking community. Screening of over 40 shorts and features at University of Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC).

Deputy Head of the College of Arts Dr Sarah Barrow: We very much hope that you can make it along to some of the Festival. There will be several filmmakers visiting Lincoln for the event and some wonderful international film content over the two days Friday 17th and Saturday 18th March in LPAC. On Thursday 16th March there’ll be a Special Opening event – with film, guests and live music – in the Stephen Langton Building Cinema, 7pm-9pm.
