Invitation ESP#2 | Extra-sonic Practice Events 4 & 5 Oct 2016
Invitation to you from the Extra-sonic Practice research group. It is hosting two free events as part of Sonophilia: Lincoln’s festival of sound and music.

The Extra-sonic Practice research group invites you to ESP#1: An Evening of Extra-sonic Performances THIS FRIDAY from 7.00pm to 9.30pm at St Mary Le Wigford Church, Lincoln.
Extra Sonic Practice (ESP) is a group of scholars and artists from the University of Lincoln who work with sound in multiple contexts and configurations. Playfully and knowingly (re)appropriating the abbreviation from its origin – Extra Sensory Perception – ESP is a response to the growing prevalence of sound within various disciplinary contexts.
Friday 4th March will feature performances by: David McSherry | Stewart Collinson + Duncan Chapman | Annie Morrad + Ian Mcarthur | Plus Low Quality Sound Snapshots by Marie Thompson and film by Annexinema co- directors Ian Nesbitt and Emily Wilczeck.

Rachel Hagreen, Class of 2014 | How To Kitchen channel
It’s coming up to a year since I got the job at Videojug Networks and flocked South to London. I started working there as a production and office assistant and got heavily involved in all aspects of the company from the start. Most notably, I was a camera op for a couple of Russell Hobbs and John Lewis shoots as well as filming (and tail operating) for the most famous fox in the world, Basil. When my 6 month contract ended, I was promoted to production secretary which is my current job role. It’s now my job to schedule the shoots and edits for all original Videojug productions and help across brand shoots when required. It was a couple of months ago when I realised that I need to start thinking about my next steps. I love working at Videojug and don’t intend on leaving for a while but I now appreciate the importance of having to constantly think ahead to what comes next. Especially in London.
I’ve always loved cooking and frequently joked about needing to find a job that combines film and food but I recognised how difficult it is to find such a niche job. So I decided to take matters in to my own hands with Alexander Whitcombe for our joint project called How To Kitchen. It aims to be an entertaining channel for everyone, not just food lovers. This is episode 3: House of Cards – Patriotic Cake.
Dani Moseley, Class of 2007 | Mega Update on Self-employment
It has been my overall dream for a long while, that I want to pay my way through life, through my creative means. Meaning I want to eat, pay my rent, travel and have fun all from payment through my creative outlets and ONLY through my creative outlets. No part time/ full time PAYE jobs. Straight self-employment through my writing, acting and modelling (though the latter is very few and far between).
ACTING: So I have been in various plays this year in various theatres and each one has come from the last. I was recommended for a role for a scratch night at the Waterloo East theatre with Whoop ‘n’ Wail. The play was called Three Women in a Music Box written by Dan Horrigan and directed by Alice Bonifacio and I played Cora. LSM students and YouTubers Dean Dobbs and Elliot Gough are organisers of the 3rd annual Lincoln YouTube Gathering on 3rd May. It’s in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. Our alumni like Bing [Slomozovo], TomSka, Jack Howard and Daniel J. Layton will be appearing. Ticket’s £8 from the Engine Shed for an event that’s billed as seeing ‘incredible performances from some talented YouTubers’. See FB.
Curator for Altered Partnership – Art & ancient churches together

The Altered partnership is recruiting a new Curator, which will be a 1-year freelance paid contract. The Curator will lead the artistic direction and management of a one year touring programme of artworks around several or more of Lincolnshire’s parish churches. The closing date’s 5pm on 31 March 2014.
‘This post will not be salaried. There will be a set fee for project delivery, which will include all travel, sustenance, labour, communications and material expenses. The maximum fee available for this is £10,000; to be paid in agreed installments. The outputs and outcomes of the project may be delivered by either an individual or company. Continue reading

Frequency Fest 2013, Lincoln
The Frequency Festival of Digital Culture will return to Lincoln from Friday 18th to Saturday 26th October 2013. Organisers said the festival will ‘bring to the city an extraordinary celebration of international arts, culture and technology.’ Frequency 2013 will explore the concept of revolution and will invite you to consider the impact of the digital revolution, asking how art and culture help us to articulate the dimensions and effects of change?
