LSFM is proud of our students who will be Class of 2019 and part of our alumni community. See work by the next generation of creatives at the University of Lincoln – where its Festival of Creativity runs from 28th May to 7th of June. LSFM final year students have crafted their art by studying BA (Hons) Animation and Visual Effects; BA (Hons) Audio Production; BA (Hons) Film and Television Studies; BA (Hons) Photography; BA (Hons) Media Production, and BA (Hons) Media Studies. Graduation Ceremony, LSFM | 12th September 2019 @10.30am

The University of Lincoln School of Film & Media’s Graduation ceremony will be at 10.30am on Thursday 12th September 2019 at the lovely Lincoln Cathedral.

The University will be in contact with *eligible students, usually by email, this month (April 2019) with further details about registration dates and times. LSFM | 10 Regional RTS Midlands Student Award Nominations

Lincoln School of Film & Media is delighted that our undergraduates’ work have been nominated for 10 Royal Television Society (RTS) Midlands Student Awards 2019. Joint Media Production Programme Leader is Chris Hainstock: This year LSFM have received a record number of nominations for Regional RTS Student Film Awards this year, and we’re proud of the work the students have put in and the films themselves. We have three nominations for animation as well as others for drama and factual. In addition three craft nominations for Camera, Production Design and Editing. It is particularly pleasing to see a joint camera nomination for two female cinematographers working on a challenging period drama. We are competing against other Universities in the region such as Derby, Birmingham, Nottingham and Staffordshire – and we will find out the results on 28^th February at the awards ceremony, which will include a special Lenny Henry sponsored award, and if successful the students will go through to the national award ceremony in June.

The winners will be announced at a celebratory ceremony on the evening of Thursday 28th February at The Book Rotunda in The Library of Birmingham, so here’s hoping for some ‘gongs’. Congratulations to the students and staff concerned – ‘and the nominations are’: Continue reading →

New Year, New Head of School | Dr Emma Watts, LSFM

University of Lincoln School of Film & Media staff and students welcome our new Head of LSFM, Art Historian, Dr Emma Watts. She said: I am delighted to be back in Lincoln after almost 21 years and thrilled to have joined LSFM. It is a priority for me to learn how the school ticks. I am looking forward to a full year ahead with some exciting projects in the pipeline, some challenges and many opportunities.

Emma has worked in various roles in academia, fine art and the creative industries in the UK, Australia and Hong Kong.

Meet the Graduates is Lincoln School of Film & Media’s annual alumni event on-campus for students to connect with creatives from the working world. Former students from 2002 to 2017 shared their experiences, tips and advice with current students on the 14^th November with a Question Time Graduate Panel and Networking. Media Mentoring 2018-19 | Industry and LSFM

University of Lincoln School of Film and Media (LSFM) officially launched this month its Industry Mentoring between 20 professionals and undergraduates for 2018-19. Each academic year, we confirm media mentors who’re available to volunteer time from their busy workload to support students who applied for this 1-to-1 employability opportunity. LSFM Mentoring started as a pilot, in 2014-15 with the Uni’s Careers Team, and now has over 40 professionals on its mentors’ database. The School’s proud that the majority of mentors are our alumni. Ian Pook, Class of 2007 is a Brand & PR Designer based in Bristol. He has clients from M&S to White Stuff, and has been our media mentor for 3 years: Meeting my mentoree in person was very good to build a more relaxed and productive relationship going forward. It was very rewarding for me personally and looking ahead to hopefully assist my mentoree achieve a job in the industry once they have finished their degree. Continue reading →

See who is planning to come for Lincoln School of Film & Media’s FREE industry networking event Meet the Graduates (MtG). See former students professional profiles on some of their experiences since graduating from the University of Lincoln (UK).

Our Grads (their work permitting) will spare time to be on-campus with LSFM students on Wednesday 14th November. MtG 2018 is your on-campus opportunity to connect with like-minded creatives, make industry contacts, share tips on jobhunting and collaborate on projects.

LSFM STUDENTS and staff are invited to take their seat by 2pm in JUN0005 at the Junxion for the Graduate Question Time panel.
