The RTS is holding an evening event aimed at scriptwriters:
“How does a writer get a comedy script from their brain onto a tv screen? How does a producer sell that script to a commissioner? What exactly is a commissioner looking for in a script? And just what is it that a channel controller does, exactly? Guided by Richard Bacon, our extremely talented and beautiful panel attempt to answer these and other questions.”
Amazon has launched Amazon Studios, a website for aspiring filmmakers and screenwriters. The concept is simple: allow those aspiring filmmakers and screenwriters to upload their work, collaborate and obtain feedback from others, and take the cream of the crop forward for possible production.

I managed to get into TV through a training scheme last year and it’s running again this year. The scheme is run by Middlesex Uni but it’s open to anyone. I think the closing date is 26th November so they may need to hurry with their applications but it is worth it!
Graduate George Shelbourne has had one of his films “Lance the Sea Horse” shortlisted for the EXPOSURES festival competition (out of 450 entries)

My name is Matthew Volp, a 1st year doing Media Production. I wanted to let you know that my film, “A Mind At Peace”, that I directed in my final year at college, has been selected for the Underexposed section of the Salford Film Festival on Wedneesday 17th November. It was also shown at the launch of the festival on Wednesday 10th.
